The Eleftheria Gala

Join us in the Grand Ballroom of the Pennsylvania Convention Center for the 2026 Eleftheria Gala, the premier black-tie dinner and signature fundraiser of our Greek Independence Day weekend. The evening begins with a one-hour cocktail reception, followed by the introduction of the dais, welcome remarks, the presentation of the Presidential Guard of Greece, the announcement of the 2026 Parade Grand Marshal, and the presentation of the 2026 Eleftheria Medal.

5pm | Cocktail Hour

The evening opens with a 5 PM cocktail hour, bringing together guests, supporters, and community leaders for conversation and celebration. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere before the formal program begins.

6pm | Dinner

A formal dinner will be served at 6 PM in the Grand Ballroom, featuring a refined multi-course menu curated especially for the occasion. Guests will enjoy an exceptional dining experience that sets the stage for the evening’s presentations and celebrations.

8:30 pm | Mini Concert & Entertainment

The night continues at 8:30 PM with a mini-concert showcasing live music from our soon-to-be-announced performers. It’s a great conclusion to the gala that builds excitement and momentum leading into Sunday’s Parade!

2026 Philadelphia Greek Independence Day Parade

Since 1962, the Philadelphia Greek Independence Day Parade has celebrated the heroic 1821 revolution and the vibrant culture, history, and traditions of Hellenism. Join us on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway as the Presidential Guard of Greece leads a proud display of community, unity, and cultural heritage.

10AM | Doxology

The celebration will begin with a Doxology at 10:00 AM at a Philadelphia-area Greek Orthodox church (location to be announced). Attendees are encouraged to dress in business attire for the service.

1PM | Parade Formation

Parade formation for marching groups and vehicle floats will begin at 1 PM on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

2PM | Parade Step Off

The parade will step off at 2 PM, with grandstands available for viewing at the intersection of Benjamin Franklin Parkway and 18th Street. Food vendors will be stationed near the parade grandstands for attendees’ convenience.

Anyone is welcome to watch the parade free of charge! Bring your family and friends of all ages.

5PM | Post Parade Celebrations

Post-parade celebrations will be held at the Uptown Beer Garden, located at 1500 John F Kennedy Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19102. This event is organized by the FHAS Young Leaders and should be a great ending to an amazing day.
