Annual Flag Raising Ceremony

April 2 | Philadelphia City Hall - North Apron

Join us for the official start of the Celebration for 2027 on Friday, April 2nd with a flag-raising ceremony at Philadelphia City Hall’s North Apron at 12:00 PM

 

The Eleftheria Gala

April 3 | TBD

Join us at our TBD location for the 2027 Eleftheria Gala, the premier black-tie dinner and signature fundraiser of our Greek Independence Day weekend. The evening begins with a one-hour cocktail reception, followed by the introduction of the dais, welcome remarks, the presentation of the Presidential Guard of Greece, the announcement of the 2027 Parade Grand Marshal, and the presentation of the 2027 Eleftheria Medal.

5pm | Cocktail Hour

The evening opens with a 5 PM cocktail hour, bringing together guests, supporters, and community leaders for conversation and celebration. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere before the formal program begins.

6pm | Dinner

A formal dinner will be served at 6 PM, featuring a refined multi-course menu curated especially for the occasion. Guests will enjoy an exceptional dining experience that sets the stage for the evening’s presentations and celebrations.

9 pm | Entertainment and Special Performance

The night continues at 9:00 PM with a special performance featuring entertainment by our TBD entertainment. It’s a great conclusion to the gala that builds excitement and momentum leading into Sunday’s Parade!

 

2027 Philadelphia Greek Independence Day Parade

Since 1962, the Philadelphia Greek Independence Day Parade has celebrated the heroic 1821 revolution and the vibrant culture, history, and traditions of Hellenism. Join us on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway as the Presidential Guard of Greece leads a proud display of community, unity, and cultural heritage.

10AM | Doxology

The celebration will begin with a Doxology at 10:00 AM at Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, and attendees are encouraged to dress in business attire for the service.

1PM | Parade Formation

Parade formation for marching groups and vehicle floats will begin at 1 PM on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

2PM | Parade Step Off

The parade will step off at 2 PM, with grandstands available for viewing at the intersection of Benjamin Franklin Parkway and 18th Street.

Anyone is welcome to watch the parade free of charge! Bring your family and friends of all ages.

5PM | Post Parade Celebrations

The post-parade party will be held at the Uptown Beer Garden. Keep the celebration going with us, doors open at 5:00 PM, tickets are available for ages 16–20 ($10) and 21+ ($20 presale / $30 at the door).
